I Want To Sleep On Your Floor: Book Tour Schedule

So this is where I’ll be this spring and summer. I’m pretty excited about the book release party. And all the rest.

If you would like me to sleep on your floor/couch and you live in one of these cities, let me know and I will do that. Or you can buy me a hot meal. But don’t give me money, because I’ll just blow it on booze. Also, if you want me to come to your city that isn’t on this list, I will do that. We can set up a reading in your kitchen/living room.

New NOÖ: IT HAS YOU & ME

Ryan Call & Mike Young continue to bring the Noo. For free.

This issue of Noo has Danika Stegeman, Kevin Sampsell, D.A. Powell (whose poem has some homoerotic/Jesus/space? stuff. I think. And like.).

My prose brain is failing lately, but I can say with certainty that I enjoyed reading Cami Park’s story “Everyone the same, but not at once.”

Also, Erin McNellis presents The Difficult Farm, which I’m hoping to read soon and Mike Young presents The Book of Frank by CA Conrad, which I need to read too.  I continue to be reminded that I was all wrong about CA’s work when I read it four years ago. All wrong. Long story.

I’m there too. And am fairly excited about the art accompanying my piece. Thanks again Ryan & Mike.

Excellent Cover Art Maybe?

Book Notes: Christopher Salerno’s Minimum Heroic

Favorite lines:

where stage blood or sunlight

fills the hundreds of clear jellyfish splayed along the beach

(from “In the Golden Age of Counterfeiting)

&

Each night on the terrace where crows pick locks,

I paint my little crow gold, and it sings my new favorite

part and we go for a spin in a a good gear

(from “Whirl”)

&

The dog takes the leash in his mouth. A bottle rocket lay in the snow. A canary lay in the snow. I dreamt my father, uncle, brother were throwing pies at a bear. But there’s no pie in the ivy. No snowball in the sentence. No teeth coming down.

(from “IV. Exit [If the Blind Need Nudging:]”)

The one about the jellyfish is particularly right. I walk by jellyfish every morning on the Potomac. They’re all smudged up on the beach with that weird reddish brain. It looks like they were just tossed there like junk.  I will read more of this when I can.
